Busy today here at the cafe, and going against the usual grain we will be having a delicious supper!!

A plethora of veggies satayed in peanut sauce with garlic and red pepper infused rice, served with sesame fried tofu and ginger tea five bucks!!

Back by popular demand: burritos!

Today is burrito day at the Café: fresh hand-rolled wheat flour tortillas filled with love, served with garnishes and Mexican rice and agua fresca (watermelon juice).

They're made to order while I'm here; fillings can include frijoles (refried beans), spicy chipotle potatoes, sausage-like tofu, cheese, rice, I can make them with a salsa roja or a salsa verde, whole jalapeño peppers, whatever's good. If you ask nicely maybe it can be fried into a chivichanga.

Stay late and take in the Stolen Minks and Music Inspired the Film show at night.

yes, I know its childish and overdone, but if I didn't, I would think less of myself; I'd be holding back; not stating the obvious connection to our lunch special and the classic AC/DC tune that plays on the slang term which celebrates and defiles the male genitalia?

Hanukah at the One World!

Hanukah has come early to the one world.
to celebrate the festival of lights, we are having LATKES, which are potato pancakes served with apple sauce, served with lentils and brown rice, and a purple-purple red cabbage, beet, and apple salad.
Made with Jewish love and serious chutzpah, (jewish guilt has been omitted).

Jam-packed Saturday!

Heute wir haben die yummy wrap mit colorful roasted vegetables und baba ghanouj spread… und dann some rice… und dann some delicious caesar salad von Amy (alle die andere Nahrung ist durch Sheila gemacht).

Today is also the IWK Crafts for Kids all-day fund-raising event, with music and performances and puppet shows and painting and crafts and raffles. Bring the kids, bring money and craft supplies to donate

Later this evening is the Confidence Band re-union show, with the Just Barelys and Iris Porter.

today dmc is making handrolled tortillas stuffed with beans and spicey potatoes (in the burrito fashion). along side of it is mexican black rice and watermelon agua fresca.

Ahoy, hungry people!

Lunch today is tofu in a sweet and sour ginger sauce, with rice and stir-fried vegetables. Or something like that. There's also green soup over here, and all our regular fine offerings.
